The Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce was recently selected for two major awards, one at the state level and one at the national level.
At last week's annual meeting of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) in Raleigh NC, the Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce was recognized as one of only three finalists for Chamber of the Year in its revenue category. With the other two finalists coming from Indiana and North Carolina, the Warner Robins Area Chamber was the only Georgia Chamber in this classification. Criteria for the award included financial stability, membership communications, programs and
special projects, responsiveness to member needs, and other organizational benchmarks. Chamber Chairman Rick Drury, President Ed Rodriguez, and Senior Vice President Aura Lee Durham were in Raleigh for the presentation.
A few days earlier, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Executives Association (GCCEA) presented the Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce with the 2009 Circle of Excellence Award, as a recognition for having the best program or event communications of any chamber of commerce in the state. The award was presented in recognition of the Chamber's First Annual Middle Georgia Regional HobNob, an event held last October that attracted political candidates from throughout the state
as well as surrogates for both major Presidential candidates. The award presentation took place at the association's annual meeting in Jekyll Island GA.
“The statewide and national recognition speaks volumes about the caliber of our programs, our volunteer leadership, and our staff,” said Chamber Chairman Rick Drury. “The awards are a powerful reflection of the community-at-large, which is comprised of businesses and individuals who have a long history of supporting their Chamber.”
